The Jerusalemite Nesseibeh family was famous for its athletic members. Ibrahim Salim Nusseibeh founded the first Arab football club under the name The Arab Club under a tree in Herods quarter pending the lease of premises for the Club in 1927. He was a leftwing in the team and his career was devoted totally to sports. He was teacher of sports during the British mandate and general inspector of the sports activities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan after unity of the West Bank and East Bank.
Hazem Nusseibeh was also a tennis champion in Jerusalem, Beirut and Alexandria. He and his brother Mahmoud won the tennis double championship under 18 in 1939 when they beat the Perez brothers who represented the Jewish community at the YMCA central court in Jerusalem. Hazem was also the tennis champion at the American University of Beirut during the three years which he spent at the University during 1941-1943. Prior to that, when Hazem was a student at Victoria College in Alexandria, he won the international tennis championship under 18 at the central court beating the runner up Schmile. He was also in the football team Victoria College as well as The Arab Ahli team in Jerusalem. His brother Hisham was also a goalkeeper in the team.

تاريخ الرياضة الفلسطينية
تسعى هذه المدونة إلى توثيق تاريخ الحركة الرياضية الفلسطينية منذ بدء ظهورها وحتى يومنا هذا. والذي يميزها هو أصالتها وصدقها ومصادرها الموثوقة والمُوثَّقة من أمهات المراجع ، وهذا بالطبع أفضل من الاعتماد على المصادر غير الموثوق بها التي تأخذ على عاتقها مهمة كتابة تاريخنا.
إن تاريخنا الرياضي هو جزء من تاريخنا الفلسطيني العام ، الذي سُلب وتعرض لمحاولة التشويه والإخفاء والإهمال، والاهتمام به هو مهمة وطنية يقوم به كل الاكاديميين والمؤرخين من أجل الحفاظ عليه وعلى تراثنا الفلسطيني.
هذه المدونة هي محاولة لتفنيد الادعاءات الإسرائيلية بأنه لم يكن للعرب في فلسطين أي نشاطات ثقافية واجتماعية وترفيهية ، في الوقت الذي بلغ عدد الأندية العربية في فلسطين قبل النكبة حوالي خمسة وستين نادياً ، معظمهما تقريبا كانت أعضاء في الاتحاد الرياضي الفلسطيني ، الذي تأسس في عام 1931 ، واعيد تأسيسه عام 1944، والذي أصبح يزاحم اتحاد الأندية الرياضية في فلسطين والاتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم (الصهيونيين) على الساحة الرياضية في فلسطين بسبب إنجازاته العظيمة التي حققها إبان فترة 1944 - 1947.
تضم هذه المدونة بعض المقالات لكُتاب آخرين التي تُعبّر عن آراء أصحابها ، كمحاولة لتقديم الرأي والرأي الآخر .
